Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Specs and Benchmarks Review

Hello and welcome to another article. In this one, we’re going to talk about a new processor that Qualcomm has quietly slipped into the market. This one is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4.

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is an upper mid-range processor from tech giants Qualcomm. It was released in August of 2025. This 4nm SoC which is built by TSMC is the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and it aims to bring a high level of performance to mid-range phones.

Let’s now proceed to review this processor.

Performance

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is built using a standard 1-3-4 CPU microarchitecture. The prime core is 1x Cortex-A720 (2.7GHz), there are 3 Cortex-A720 (2.4GHz) CPUs acting as the performance cores and to round it up, we have 4x Cortex-A520 (1.8GHz) running as the battery efficiency cores.

This is a very strong setup and it is no different from what you’ll find on a lot of modern upper mid-range SoCs.

It will provide plenty of power for you to get whatever you want done. This means that it’ll easily tackle most of the tasks, apps and games that are available on the Android ecosystem.

GPU, Graphics and Gaming

As with most standard Qualcomm SoCs, this one comes with an Adreno GPU. The GPU here is the Adreno 810.

It is a relatively new GPU but please note that its naming scheme can be rather confusing. When most people hear the Adreno 800 series, they’ll immediately think of the flagship range. This is not the case.

The Adreno 810’s performance level is around the same area as the Adreno 640 or 644 and it is nowhere near the Adreno 725 or 730.

That being said, it is still a very solid upper mid-range GPU that can comfortably take on a lot of games (native and emulated) as well as other graphics.

RAM and Storage

This SoCs supports the current gen LPDDR5 which runs at 3200 MHz. It also supports up to 16GB. For storage, it can handle up to UFS 2.2 and even UFS 3.1.

Benchmarks

To quantify the performance of this SoC, we’ll have to look at how well it does on AnTuTu and GeekBench.

On AnTuTu 10, it scores around 874,745, whilst on GeekBench, it scores 1214 (single core) and 3314 (multi core).

These put this SoC firmly in upper mid-range territory close to SoCs like the Exynos 2100, Kirin 9000 and even the Snapdragon 888.

As you can see, the ground is shifting and old flagships are now mid-rangers

Camera and Video

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 supports cameras of up to 200MP and can record videos of 4K@30fps. It also supports a lot of the available video codecs such as H.264, H.265 and VP9.

Connectivity

This SoC comes equipped with a Snapdragon X62 5G modem. This means that it supports both sub-6GHz and mmwave 5G. It also supports 4G LTE Cat. 18 as well.

It reaches download speeds of up to 2900 Mbps and enjoys support for both WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. All of these are the latest communication standards that you’ll find on most smartphones.

Summary and conclusion

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is built on a 4nm TSMC process and should guarantee good performance whilst being careful with battery life and heating.

Whilst the performance is very good and the comms are fine, I feel as though Qualcomm cut back on the video performance. 4K video at 60fps should be the standard at this level.

However besides that, I don’t really have much to complain about. Having a performance close to that of the Snapdragon 888 and Dimensity 8200 is a good enough reason for praise.

Now let’s see how it does in real life.
