JLQ JR510 vs Exynos 850 vs Helio G37
I love triple threat head to heads for some reason. Maybe it is because I grew up watching the WWE, I dunno, but lemme welcome you to the JLQ JR510 vs Exynos 850 vs Helio G37 comparison.
The JLQ JR510 is a budget SoC from a new player on the SoC market called JLQ. I have a dedicated post on them that you can find here. The JLQ JR510 is meant to bring decent photography, especially night shots to the budget space. It has found a home on the Poco C40.
The Exynos 850 is a low end SoC from smartphone giants Samsung. It sits squarely in the budget range as well, although it has been hyped to the death by a lot of reviewers and lay people. It has made its debut on the Samsung Galaxy A13.
The Helio G37 is the third entry on our list. It is a run of the mill budget SoC from MediaTek. This SoC is simply a minor improvement on the Helio G35 which is its predecessor. It is doing pretty okay for itself.

Performance
On the surface, the JR510 and the Eynos 850 use better CPU cores (Cortex A55) than the Helio G37 (Cortex A53) but the A53s on the Helio G37 are a lot faster than the ones on the JR510 and Exynos 850. It is also worthwhile to note that the gap between the A55 and the A53 is quite small.
The Exynos 850 is built on an 8nm process while the JR510 and G37 are built on 11 and 12nm respectively. This shows that the 850 is a lot more efficient than the other two.
Having these in mind, as well as looking at the benchmarks, the Exynos 850 is winner here by a very slight margin. This is because it can maintain peak performance longer than the other two due to it’s efficiency. The JR510 and G37 come second and third here.
Graphics and Gaming
The Exynos 850 and the JR510 use the more superior Mali G51 (single core) GPU which is better than the older PowerVR GE8320 on the G37. As a result, both the Exynos 850 and the JR510 would perform marginally better on games that the G37.
That being said, please do not buy phones with these SoCs if you are looking to play triple A titles like eFootball, PUBG Mobile, PUBG New State, Call of Duty Mobile, Apex Legends, NBA 2K, Grid AutoSports, Fortnite etc. Look for phones with midrange SoCs instead.
Photography and Videography
It is pretty straightforward here, the Exynos 850 supports high resolution 48MP cameras and video capture/playback of 1080p@60fps. The JR510 comes second here. It supports 25MP cameras and video capture of 1080p@30fps and playback of 4K@30fps. The G37 comes 3rd.
Display support
The JR510 and the Exynos 850 are tied for 1st place and the G37 comes second.
Connectivity
All three SoCs are tied.
Battery efficiency and heating
The Exynos 850 is built on a 8nm Samsung FinFet process and is the clear winner here. It will consume more battery and heat less. The JR510 come second and the G37 comes third.
Overall standing
- Performance: Exynos 850
- Gaming: Exynos 850 and JLQ JR510
- Photo and video: Exynos 850
- Display: Exynos 850 and JLQ JR510
- Connectivity: Tie
- Battery: Exynos 850
Overall, the 850 is the best budget SoC here but it is overpriced and over hyped. The JR510 comes second and the G37 comes third. Overall, I believe that the JR510 deserve a lot more credit than it is given.
With that we’ve come to the end of the comparison between the JLQ JR510 vs Exynos 850 vs Helio G37. Hope to see you again soon.
