Some of you may be wondering why this comparison even exists. After all, the Helio G200 sounds like some kind of flagship killer, right? Well, not true. Despite the fancy name, this is still a rebranded Helio G100 chip, and it faces off against one of Qualcomm’s most confusing releases to date. This is the Helio G200 vs Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1.
So we’ll break it all down, spec by spec, and see which one comes out on top.
Meet the SoCs
The MediaTek Helio G200 is a “new” lower-midrange chip built on a 6nm TSMC process, with a surprisingly decent spec sheet for its class. It is a rebrand to the aging Helio G100 which itself is also a rebranded Helio G99.
On the other side, we’ve got the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1, which is basically a rebranded Snapdragon 662 with a fancier name—and not much else. It’s still stuck on an 11nm Samsung process and shows its age, especially in terms of performance.

CPU Performance
The MediaTek Helio G200 is armed with 2x Cortex A76 (2.6GHz) and 6x Cortex A55 (2.0GHz). The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 on the hand use the older and weaker 4x Cortex A73 (2.1GHz) + 4x Cortex A55 (1.8GHz).
The Helio G200 takes a clear lead here. The Cortex-A76 is faster and more efficient than the Cortex-A73, and MediaTek is clocking it much higher at 2.2GHz. Meanwhile, Qualcomm seems stuck in 2018 with those old A73 cores.
Verdict: Helio G200 has a faster and more modern CPU.
GPU
- Helio G200: Mali-G57 MC2 (950MHz)
- Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1: Adreno 610 (845MHz)
Neither GPU is going to win any gaming awards, but the Mali-G57 is more powerful than the Adreno 610, which was already showing its age back in the Snapdragon 665 days. As a result, you should expect better gaming performance from the Helio G200.
Verdict: Helio G200 edges ahead for casual gaming.
Benchmark Scores
AnTuTu v10
- Helio G200: ~360,000
- Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1: ~275,000
GeekBench 6
- Helio G200:
- Single-core: ~740
- Multi-core: ~2028
- Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1:
- Single-core: ~410
- Multi-core: ~1495
This is a complete wipeout. The Helio G200 is way faster across the board, both in synthetic and real-world performance.
Verdict: Helio G200 dominates benchmarks.
Memory and Storage
- Helio G200: LPDDR4X RAM + UFS 2.2
- Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1: LPDDR4X RAM + eMMC 5.1 or UFS 2.1
This one is quite close. Both SoCs support LPDDR4X, however the Helio G200 support the faster RAM which runs at 2133MHz whilst the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 is stuck at 1866MHz. The G200 also supports a faster UFS 2.2, while the 6s 4G might still be stuck with eMMC in some phones and UFS 2.1 in others. That means slower app loading and file transfers on the Snapdragon 6S 4G Gen 1.
Verdict: Helio G200 offers snappier memory and storage.
Display Support
- Helio G200: 2520 × 1080 @ 120Hz
- Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1: 2520 × 1080
While both support FHD+ resolutions, the Helio G200 supports a higher refresh rate (120Hz), making scrolling and animations feel smoother.
Verdict: G200 wins for display fluidity.
Camera Support
- Helio G200: Up to 108MP main camera, supports 2K video @ 30fps
- Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1: Up to 64MP, 1080p @ 30fps
Again, the Helio G200 is just more capable. It can handle higher-resolution sensors and better video, making it a better pick for budget camera phones.
Verdict: Helio G200 supports higher-end camera features.
Connectivity
- Helio G200: 4G LTE (Cat-13 DL / Cat-13 UL), Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2
- Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1: 4G LTE (X11 modem), Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0
Both are 4G chips with similar LTE performance, but the G200 has slightly newer Bluetooth 5.2 support whilst the Snapdragon 6S 4G Gen 1 supports WiFi 6.
Verdict: A trade-off between faster Bluetooth 5.2 or WiFi 6.
Summary and Verdict
The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 is a rehashed budget chip that never really made sense. It’s underpowered, outdated, and its name is more confusing than its performance is impressive.
The Helio G200, on the other hand, is a rebranded Helio G100 and it wipes the floor with Qualcomm’s offering here. You get a newer CPU, a better GPU, faster memory, improved display support, and better camera handling—all for roughly the same price.
TL;DR:
If you’re choosing between these two chips, go with the Helio G200 every single time. The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 shouldn’t even be on your radar.
