If you’re an eFootball Mobile player, you might have faced this frustrating hiccup that could prevent you from diving into the game. It usually pops up once in a while and it is due to being unable to download the weekly  Thursday’s live update. In this article, we’re going to learn how to fix unable to implement live update data on eFootball Mobile.

eFootball Mobile is a standout football game developed by Konami. It combines stellar graphics with engaging gameplay, making it a go-to choice for mobile gamers. It’s one of the leading football games on mobile right in terms of gameplay and graphics.

However, Konami is also very notorious for their very shitty servers. Without mincing words, they have probably got one of the worst servers out there. Sometimes they resort to a player-to-player (p2p) connection instead of a player-to-server-to-player connection. As a result, their servers tend to throw curve balls at you from time to time. This is one of those curve balls.

The Problem

So one Thursday evening after the usual maintenance and update, I tried to log in. To log in, one would have to download the live update. For some reason, I found out that I couldn’t download the customary 8MB live update. The game would attempt to download the update, fail, and post the message “unable to implement live update data“. This was very upsetting to me. I checked my network, cleared the app cache, and restarted my device. All of which failed to solve the problem.

How to Fix Unable to Implement Live Update Data

The Fix

The solutions are so simple.

  1. All I had to do was delete the previous live updates and retry.
  2. Switch from 5G to 4G LTE or from 4G LTE to 3G (H+).

To do this, launch the eFootball Mobile app and wait for the game to get to the home screen. Tap on the drop-down menu at the bottom right corner and then click on the delete live update data option.

When you do so, go back to the home screen and try to enter the game. This time you’ll be prompted to download a larger amount of live update data. Shouldn’t be more than 40MB. When that’s done, you’ll be able to log in easily.

Do this in 3 easy steps

  1. Launch the eFootball Mobile app, and wait for it to reach the home screen.
  2. Locate the drop-down menu at the bottom right corner.
  3. Click on “delete live update data.”

This may not always work so here’s a second fix. Go into your smartphone settings and toggle the preferred network option from 5G to 4G LTE or even to 3G (H, H+). After you’ve done this, relaunch the game and try again. Usually works as well.

Conclusion

So that’s how to fix “unable to implement live update data” on eFootball Mobile. The solution, as it turns out, is quite straightforward – delete the previous live updates or toggle your preferred network to 4G or 3G. These quick fixes should work wonders not only for mobile users but potentially for PC and console (PS4, PS5, Xbox) players as well. If this guide proved helpful to you, drop a comment below.
