The Redmi Note 10 5G is the only 5G enabled device in the Redmi Note 10 series. If you are looking for an affordable 5G midrange device then this one is worth a look in. It is only available to international markets.

Body

The phone feels solid despite being built with a plastic frame sandwiched in between a sheet of Gorilla Glass 3 at the front and plastic at the back. It weighs 190g and has an IP53 rating for splash (water) and dust protection. There is also a plastic case in the box should you need it.

Display

The display on this phone is a 6.5” IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution. It has a pixel density of 405ppi and can reach a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate as well as adaptive sync. HDR10 for high-definition streaming and Widevine for Netflix are not supported here. The display is protected by a Gorilla glass 3.

SoC, Software & Performance

The RN10 5G has a Dimensity 700 processor which is paired with a Mali G57 MC2 GPU. It is an Octa-core SoC with two Cortex A76 cores running at 2.2GHz for heavy tasks and six Cortex A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz for light tasks.

On Geekbench 5.1, this SoC has a performance of 530 (single-core) and 1720 (Multi-core). On Antutu v8, it has a score of 289,751. The D700 is an affordable 5G option by Mediatek. It is built on a flagship 7nm process which should ensure efficiency and less heating. This phone can handle anything thrown at it.

On the software side of things, there is MIUI 12 based on Android 11 running on this device. This device is going to be well supported by Xiaomi with at least one full Android update and two years of MIUI updates.

Memory

The RAM variant used here is an LPDDR4x RAM for efficient multitasking and app switching. The Internal storage is a UFS 2.2. There is a dedicated SD card slot that can accept SD cards as high as 512GB.

Camera

The setup here is a triple camera setup. There is a 48MP Sony IMX582 Exmor RS main camera for excellent shots and it also shoots 4K (@30fps) and 1080p (@30/60/120fps) video. The other cameras are a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is an 8MP camera which takes good selfies and videos of 1080p @30fps.

Battery

The battery is a huge 5000mAh and it supports 18W fast charging. There is an 18W capable fast charger in the box to help you take advantage of the phone’s fast charging capabilities.

Connectivity/Sensors

This device is 4G LTE enabled and supports Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28 (a & b), 38, 40 and 41. It also supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 out of the box.

There is a side-mounted fingerprint for security. We can also find proximity sensors, ambient light sensors, an accelerometer, a compass, a gyroscope, and a notification LED. Finally, there is a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Price and Availability

The 4/64GB variant sells for N92,500, the 4/128GB sells for N100,800 and the 6/128GB goes for N111,000. The phone is already on sale.
