A lot of people are on the lookout for their next phone. If you have an unlimited amount of money to purchase your next phone, you can skip this post entirely. If you are on a tight budget, then this post is for you. Here are some of the best smartphones that are sold for less than ₦100000.

Some of you may have read ₦100,000 with surprise. Well, you should not be. Due to inflation in the value of the Naira, rising international exchange rates and damn near exploitative custom charges, it has become more expensive to procure phones. Once upon a time, around ₦50,000 would get you a decent phone, but that may not be the case anymore as the prices of phones have skyrocketed. Now that you are armed with this knowledge, you may have to up your budget or lower your expectations.

Oppo A72

The Oppo A72 sports a tall 6.5-inch FHD+ screen with 90Hz touch. It has a triple camera setup of 48mp (main camera), 8mp (ultrawide angle camera), and a 2mp depth sensor on the rear. There’s also a 16mp front shooter. It ships with 4/128GB of storage. This phone is quite expensive for its Snapdragon 665 chipset but it has a good battery capacity of 5000mAh. It also runs on Android 10. It is sold for ₦90,000 on AliExpress and from ₦95,000 on Jumia.


Redmi Note 9s

The Redmi Note 9s is the best affordable option of the Redmi 9 lineup of phones and it is a great bargain. It has a beautiful 6.67-inch FHD+ display, a 5020mAh battery, a Snapdragon 720G chip, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It has a quad camera setup with a 48mp main camera, 8mp ultrawide angle camera, 5mp macro camera a 2mp depth sensor; and a 16mp front-facing selfie. It is sold for 85-90k on Jumia and for 80k on AliExpress.


Poco M3

The cheapest of the devices on this list, the Xiaomi Poco M3 is a wonderful phone designed for people who prefer to use their devices for as long as possible. With a 6000mAh battery and a reverse charging feature that lets you charge other devices, this phone is a powerhouse. It has a 48MP rear camera as the main shooter and an 8MP selfie camera. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and a surprisingly light body considering the size. It is sold on AliExpress for less than ₦60k for the base version and less than ₦70k for the 128 GB version now.


Infinix Note 7

The Infinix Note 7 is one of those devices that make you wonder if Infinix can break its glass ceiling. It sports a rather powerful Mediatek Helio G70 processor, 4/64GB for the base version, and a 5000mAh battery powering a mediocre 6.9-inch HD screen. In the camera department, 48mp main camera and a 16mp selfie camera. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. Prices start from ₦70k on Jumia and offline stores. Realme 6 pro

The Realme 6 Pro is another very powerful midrange device. It ships with a Snapdragon 720G and comes in memory configurations of 6/64GB, 6/128GB, and 8/128 GB.  It uses a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz Refresh rate. The cameras on board this device are 64MP + 12MP + 8MP +  2MP in the rear while there are 16 + 12MP selfie cameras. The battery is 4300mAh with 30W VOOC fast charge. It is sold for ₦95,000 on AliExpress for the highest version and it is available on Jumia.

If you are unable to purchase the 6 pro, the Realme 6i is available from ₦56,000 – ₦62,000 on AliExpress and if the Oppo Realme 6i is still expensive, the Oppo Realme C3 is even more affordable at ₦50,000 for the highest version on AliExpress.


Nokia 7.2

The Nokia 7.2 is one of the best Nokia phones below ₦100k. the phone sports a Snapdragon 660 SoC, a memory configuration of 4/64GB, a 48MP main camera with a 20MP front camera, and a rather small 3500mAh battery. Before you dismiss this device, in its defense, has got a clean user interface, an FHD+ 6.3 inch screen, and a beautiful body… Sold for 75k on AliExpress and from 110k on Jumia.
