Hello there, let’s do a Redmi 12C vs Tecno Spark 10 Pro comparison. These are two of the more trending phones right now and I’m sure that that you’re interested in knowing which one’s better.

Redmi 12C

The Redmi 12C is a budget phone that is designed to offer good enough processor performance and okay cameras. There’s also decent battery life in there.

Tecno Spark 10 Pro

The Tecno Spark 10 Pro, on the other hand, is a midrange device so the performance and cameras here are lower midrange class.

Redmi 12C vs Tecno Spark 10 Pro

We’re going to be pitting the Redmi 12C vs Tecno Spark 10 Pro based on the following parameters.

  1. Performance (SoC, GPU, RAM)
  2. Software and support
  3. Display
  4. Cameras
  5. Battery and charging
  6. Network connectivity
  7. Pricing

Performance

The SoC on the 12C is the MediaTek Helio G85 whilst the one on the Spark 10 Pro is the MediaTek Helio G88.

The performance of both SoCs is basically the same. In fact, on some benchmarks, the G85 on the Redmi 12C slightly outperforms the G88 on the Spark 10 Pro. Overall it does not really matter as the performance between both phones is virtually the same in apps, tasks and gaming.

Software and Support

The Redmi 12C ships with MIUI 13 and Android 12 but at least you’re guaranteed two MIUI updates and 1 Android update. The Tecno Spark 10 Pro ships with HiOS 12.6 and Android 13. Whilst you’re guaranteed several HiOS updates, the Android updates are a rather sketchy area.

Display

The display on the Spark 10 Pro is bigger and better than that of the Redmi 12C. The Spark 10 Pro has 1080P (FHD) with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Redmi 12C on the other hand has a 720p (HD) with a regular 60Hz.

Cameras

Both phones use a 50MP main camera and the ISP on both phones is the same. This means that by default, the photos and video output should be very similar. The only difference here would be how each company tweaks their image and video software.

As for selfies, the Spark 10 Pro would do a better job with it’s 32MP selfie camera.

Battery and charging

Both phones pack a 5,000mAh battery but points go to the Spark 10 Pro for having faster 18W charging. This means that it’ll charge faster than the 12C which only supports 10W charge.

Network and connectivity

Both phones use an LTE Cat. 7 modem with 100Mbps (uplink) and 300Mbps (downlink) network speeds. They also both have Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-fi 5, USB 2.0 etc.

The two differences here are that the Spark 10 Pro has a side mounted fingerprint sensor and a USB C port while the 12C has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and a micro-USB port.

Pricing

Pricing for the Redmi 12C starts at 75,500 Naira for the 3/64GB variant while the 4/128GB variant sells at 85,500 Naira.

The Spark 10 Pro on the other hand is a lot more expensive starting at 104,500 Naira for the 8/128GB variant.

Conclusion

The Spark 10 Pro has the better display, selfie, faster charging, more RAM and USB C port. The Redmi 12C has arguably the better performance, software support and pro mode for main camera.
