Specs leak for the Redmi Note 12 series

Redmi Note 12 series

The Redmi Note 12 series has been announced by Xiaomi. This is the 12th generation of the Redmi Note series and it replaces the Redmi Note 11 series.

The Redmi Note series is one of the most popular smartphone lines in the world selling in the tens of millions. It usually targets the midrange segment where it tends to offer a solid price-to-performance ratio.

There are four phones in the Redmi Note 12 lineup. These are:

  • Redmi Note 12
  • RedmiNote 12 Pro
  • Redmi Note 12 Pro+
  • Redmi Note 12 Extreme

Those with keen eyes and memories will notice that a popular variant is missing. This is the RN12S.

Specs leak for the Redmi Note 12 series

Redmi Note 12

Specs

  • SoC: Snapdragon 4 Gen 1
  • GPU: Adreno
  • Software: Android 12 (MIUI 13)
  • Display: 6.67″ FHD+ OLED, 120Hz
  • Camera: 48MP camera

The Redmi Note 12 is the vanilla device here and comes with very moderate specs. It is powered by the all-new Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. Information on that SoC is not very detailed at the moment.

It has a dual 48+8MP camera set-up for photos and videos. There’s no optical image stabilization here.

It shares a similar 6.67″ FHD+ OLED display with iitspro siblings. This display is also capable of a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery is 5,000mAh with a charge speed of 33W max.

The Redmi Note 12 is available in black, white, and blue colors and sells ¥1,199 ($165) for the 4/128GB variant and ¥1,699 ($235) for the 8/256GB variant.

Redmi Note 12 Pro

Specs

  • SoC: MediaTek Dimensity 1080
  • GPU: ARM Mali G68 MC4
  • Software: Android 12 (MIUI 13)
  • Display: 6.67″ FHD+ OLED, 120Hz
  • Camera: 50MP Sony IMX766 (OIS)
  • Battery: 5,000mAh (67W fast charge)
  • Comms: 5G, BT 5.3, WiFi 6

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is the lowest Pro device here. It packs a very impressive Dimensity 1080 SoC which is a very powerful SoC. It is capable of taking on anything you can throw at it.

There’s a triple camera setup on board here, but the main camera is head and shoulders above the rest. It’s a Sony IMX766 camera with Optical Image Stabilization. This is the first Redmi Note with this feature.

The display is a 6.67″ OLED with FHD+ resolution. The display is Dolby certified, has HDR10+ support, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The battery is a standard 5,000mAh with a whopping 67W fast charge.

Redmi Note 12 Pro is available in white, black, blue, and a pink gradient shade. The prices begin at ¥1,699 ($235) for the 6/128GB model. The 8/128 GB variant sells for ¥1,799 and the 8/256 GB for ¥1,999. The 12/256 GB model sells for ¥2,199 ($304).

Redmi Note 12 Pro+

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ shares a lot of similarities with the Redmi Note 12 Pro but it has two significant upgrades.

The first is that it has a much better 200MP Samsung HPX main camera and its display packs a much faster 240Hz refresh rate.

All other specs for the SoC (Dimensity 1080), software (Android 12/MIUI 13), display, and batteries remain unchanged.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is available in white, black, blue, and a special Yibo Edition (green/black tone) color. It sells at ¥2,199 ($304) for the 8/256GB variant and ¥2,399 ($332) for the 12/256GB model.

Would these two upgrades be enough to make you pick the RN12 Pro+ over their Pro version?

Specs leak for the Redmi Note 12 series

Redmi Note 12 Extreme

Specs

  • SoC: MediaTek Dimensity 1080
  • GPU: ARM Mali G68 MC4
  • Software: Android 12 (MIUI 13)
  • Display: 6.67″ FHD+ OLED, 240Hz
  • Camera: 200MP Samsung HPX (OIS)
  • Battery: 4,300mAh (210W fast charge)
  • Comms: 5G, BT 5.3, WiFi 6

This is the first time we’ll be seeing an Extreme model for the Redmi Note series. Initially, I struggled to see what was so extreme about it until I saw the charging speeds! 210W! That’s insane

As a compromise, however, the Redmi Note 12 sacrifices a bit of battery capacity (4300mAh) for better fast charge.

All other specs are identical to those of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+.

With that we have come to the end of this specs leak for the Redmi Note 12 series. Which phone do you fancy? Let me know in the comments.
