This is a comparison post between the Redmi Note 11S vs Poco M4 Pro 4G.

Redmi and Poco are both sister sub-brands that belong to Chinese tech giants, Xiaomi. Redmi operates more globally while Poco tends to stay in select countries, chief of which is India. That being said, Poco has steadily been making some headway into markets that were once dominated by Redmi.

The Redmi Note 11S is a standard upper midrange phone from Redmi, it is the older of the two. The Poco M4 Pro 4G is a successor to the Poco M3 Pro and is far more popular than its predecessor.

Body

Both phones are made of the same materials: a plastic frame sandwiched by a Gorilla glass 3 body. Both phones also weigh 179g and have IP53 splash proofing.

Performance

The two devices are powered by the Mediatek Helio G96 with the Mali G57 MC2 GPU. Both devices also use the same LPDDR4x RAM with a UFS 2.2 storage. The two devices run MIUI 13 on Android 11 out of the box, although Xiaomi has made the Android 12 update available for both phones.

Display

The two devices also share identical specs when it comes to the display. Both devices sport a 6.43″ FHD AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, 409ppi and 1000nits of max brightness. The displays are protected by Gorilla glass 3.

Cameras

This is where the Redmi Note 11S takes the lead. The RN11S houses a 108MP Samsung HM2 main camera. Other cameras are an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

The Poco M4 Pro comes in second place with a 64MP Samsung GW3 main camera. Its other cameras are an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera.

Batteries

The story is the same for the batteries. They both share a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charge. They also both support Quick Charge 3.0+.

Comms/sensors

Both devices are 4G LTE capable and support Bluetooth 5.0 and Wifi 5. They also both support IR blasters, GPS, compasses, accelerometers, proximity sensors, NFC etc.

Prices

Let us look at the prices now. The RN11S 6/128GB version retails for around ₦157,000 while the 8/128GB sells for ₦167,000. The Poco M4 Pro 4G has the 6/128GB selling for ₦150,000 and the 8/128GB selling for ₦174,000.

Conclusion

Based on what we have seen so far, both phones are very identical with the exception of the cameras. In keeping with tradition, the Poco device is firmly focused on performance whilst the RN11S is the all rounder.

It is as clear as day. The RN11S is the one that you should be getting.
